Colonel E.H. Taylor Straight Rye - 750ml

Finally, a rye that doesn't cut the spice with corn—the nose is pure rye grain and the sip lingers with that bold, peppery kick. It’s a bit pricey for a 750ml, but the unadulterated mash bill makes it worth the occasional splurge.

The lack of corn in the mash is interesting and gives it a clean, spicy kick, but I expected a bit more depth and complexity for the price point. It's good for a neat pour if you're a rye fan, but not mind-blowing.

It's a solid rye, but I wish there was a bit more spice to it. The flavor from the mash of rye and malted barley is clean and interesting, but the finish feels a little short for the price.
