Lagavulin 11 Year Sweet Peat - 750ml

The sweetness definitely softens the peat in a way that makes it much more approachable than the usual Islay offerings, but you still get that classic maritime character. It’s a fantastic balance for those who want the smoke without the overwhelming punch.

The pour is a deep gold, and the peat is there but it's like a warm blanket rather than a campfire—much more approachable than I feared. The maritime saltiness carries through nicely on the finish, and it's become my go-to for a quiet evening.

Opened this expecting the usual Lagavulin punch, but the “sweet peat” description is spot on—the smoke is there, but it’s balanced with a softer, almost honeyed finish. Pairs wonderfully with a rainy evening.
